Speaker 1:

Hello, hello, hello, party people, welcome back to another episode of Remarkable Revelations. My name is Alexandria and on this channel I share my personal, god-given revelations to help other women tap into their worth. So what is up, ladies? And if you are here, gentlemen, because you're welcome to Hi, today I want to talk about immaturity, spiritual immaturity, to be exact. But I want to jump right into the book of Hebrews and we're going to go to chapter five, verse 11.

Speaker 1:

And it says we have a great deal to say about this and it is difficult to explain, since you have become too lazy to understand, although by this time you ought to be teachers. You need someone to teach you the basic principles of God's revelation. Again, you need milk, not solid food. Now, everyone who lives on milk is inexperienced with the message about righteousness because he is an infant. But solid food is for the mature, for those whose senses have been trained to distinguish between good and evil.

Speaker 1:

I don't want to stop there, because there's just so much here and, honestly, it took me a minute to break it down because, okay, let me go in order. First, y'all gotta grow up. We have, we, we are called to push god's kingdom agenda and if you take that responsive responsibility serious. You have to grow up, I have to grow up. So one thing we know for sure is that he is a jealous God and he will have nothing come before him. And I think that because we our day-to-day lives as humans, just being of this world, sometimes it happens. Sometimes you know our actions. Our words say Lord, you are a savior, you are the one who comes first in my life, but our actions say otherwise, because we get caught up in all of all of the works, right, the things of busy life, and then you look up and then you wonder why you are getting attacked. And you know spiritually and you don't know how to handle it.

Speaker 1:

The bible specifically states you need milk, not solid food. He is referencing the food and milk as his word. So he's basically saying if you cannot digest my word, how can you be able to go and do anything in life? You cannot go where God is trying to take you if you're not prepared. When our parents wanted us to start having solid foods, they gave it to us in baby sizes and we worked our way up so they can get our belly strained to be able to digest the food. And that's the same thing here God is saying with his word. God is not looking for our perfection. He's not looking for us to read the Bible frontwards and backwards. He's not looking for us to wake up at 2.30 am and have a three-hour power session. If you do that, that is fantastic, but that is not what he's looking for. He is looking for those baby bit sizes and progressing every day. We need to grow up spiritually so we will be able to digest his word and we will be able he literally tells us, we will be able to discern what is good and what is evil. Okay, y'all.

Speaker 1:

This second part tripped me out. It is verse um, hebrew, chapter 6, verse 1. It says, therefore, let us leave the elementary teaching about god and go on to maturity not laying a foundation of repentance from dead works, faith in God, teaching about ritual washings, laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead and internal judgment. And we will do this if God permits. So basically, this second part kind of tripped me out because it's basically saying now let's go on and leave the elementary teachings, let's go on to something more mature. But if we have to go back to the elementary teachings, we'll do that if God says it. So I'm like you don't want us out here spreading the gospel, telling the people have faith in God, repenting your sins, like what's wrong with that? And clearly he's saying there's nothing wrong with it, because there may be a time where we need to go back to the basics.

Speaker 1:

But in this specific chapter, in this context, god is telling us that we need to go beyond the surface. Imagine dating somebody and you're trying to get deep, like you're trying to really get to know this person, and they just giving you surface level stuff and you're like, okay, I like you're not going to trust them because they're not letting you in and you only know them surface level. Who wants to? Who wants to be involved with anyone? Like that, me and my me personally, all my relationships. I need to know your mama favorite color, your pet fish name, your shoe size, your I, just your deepest, darkest secrets we need to know. I need to go beyond the surface level. Let's skip, skip the small talk. Okay, moving forward, we got to focus. If you want to receive what God has for you, you are going to have to go beyond the surface level. There's nothing wrong with the basics. Basics always work, no-transcript. If you truly want this lifestyle and you want that relationship with God. You got to step up, especially if you know better.

Speaker 1:

This is specifically for the people who are very conscious and very aware of their calling in and what they need to do to push God's kingdom agenda. Like a couple of weeks ago, I was just like feeling like God was like come on, let's go, and I'm like Lord, I don't want to go. I don't know who you think I am, I'm sleepy, I'm tired, I'm putting all these these hours in at work, like and it's honestly, it wasn't even about the time like I truly just felt spiritually that I just was not ready to go where he trying to take me and, quite frankly, I don't. I'm not sure if I'm there yet. I'm just making strides, I'm taking bite sizes progression here every day, but it's a lot. And not to be a fool and a liar on this platform if I told y'all that it wasn't.

Speaker 1:

The thing is, when you are in a relationship with God and you are reading his word and the word, you're not just reading it, you're actually retaining it. I feel like it's bittersweet because the sweet part is so good, like you are able to absorb the word. You're, you know, you feel confident, you're closer to God, you're getting to know his character more. But, on the contrary, along with that is that your conscience level. You're more aware. You know, once people do something bad, you just be like I don't want to know. I don't want to know, I don't want to be a witness. Now, like, how can I ignore all the things that I've read, that the Holy Spirit has placed on my heart? How can I ignore that? And if I ignore it on purpose, god's wrath is real and I don't want no smoke. So I am truly just doing my best and taking it day by day.

Speaker 1:

But y'all, going into 2025, the world is just getting crazier. If you are serious about following God and being a disciple and truly, truly pushing the gospel and advancing his kingdom agenda, then you have to grow up spiritually. I have to grow up spiritually. We need to start fasting, we need to start reading, we need to start and I would say, go to church and go to bible study. I think those things are good, but I also think that those things are surface level, because you can go to these, to the church, the Bible study but if you're going to just check off a box, then it's surface level. We have to get deep, we have to truly, truly seek him, and when we do, man oh man will we find him. So for myself, a few action items that I'm personally doing to get closer and deeper and going beyond surface level with God is every year towards the end of the year, in December.

Speaker 1:

I don't have a specific date, but I do a fast. I am drinking nothing but water until the clock strikes midnight, because typically I'm gonna fast alcohol and social media and like all these, all these different things. But I'm like, well, lord, we did that a few years ago. So it's like my, my, my craving, my need, my want for social media is not the same anymore. So it's not really it's not, it's not a true sacrifice. I love cranberry juice and um coffee black, don't judge me so that is kind of like a, you know, a sacrifice for me. So I'm only drinking water, but I'm just trying to figure out what areas of my life um am I placing um it before god, and I'm just gonna work my way backwards and figure out what's a fast um.

Speaker 1:

In addition to that, every morning morning there's a bible verse that says that um jesus woke up early, early in the morning to go meet with god before he started his day, and I have my alarm set to spend at least a minimum of 45 minutes to an hour with god reading my word each morning. But there are some times in the mornings where I don't have the opportunity to do that because of whatever reason, and I will more than likely, um be disappointed in myself. So all this shame is coming, which I know is not from God, but sometimes it can be so strong. The little five minutes that I do have to talk to God. I'm like I'm not going to do that. I know you're mad at me because I need to do better and he's just like nope, I'll take the five minutes, I'll take the two minutes, I'll take the one minute. I don't care if minutes, I'll take the one minute. I don't care if I got 27 seconds before I had to go inside of work. We talk and we having a conversation and we will reconvene throughout the day. So I'm just learning how to get into that and and truly invite him into everything, like I'm going to be that friend. Did you talk to Jesus about this, did you? Did you read your Bible? Have you talked to God yet. No, okay, then maybe we should do that. I'm about to be that friend, because I'm talking to this man about everything.

Speaker 1:

The third thing that I am doing to grow and be deeper in my relationship with God is I have a commentary book by Tony Evans and with in addition to my Bible, and then I also have it's over there, but it's a um, it's a Greek and Hebrew dictionary, so I'll read it in my Bible, I'll go read it in my commentary. If there's something where I still can't figure it out, I'll go read it in my Greek and Hebrew dictionary to see what was the writer of that time actually trying to say. And, yeah, I love this commentary, it's just the way he breaks it down is yeah, shout out to you, tony Evans, thank you for that. So, yeah, those are my three things guys, fast, guys, fasting. I am making sure I spend my quality time with him, regardless of what my day looks like, and then I'm also, um, not just reading the word, but I'm reading, writing and retaining the word, um, so word. So take what you need, leave what you don't.

Speaker 1:

I hope this was helpful and I just want us to just be mature man. He has so much in store for us, and it's hard for me to speak for other people, but I know I'm not the only one, because he wouldn't have gave me this message to share with you guys. So it's like I feel like we just waste so much time Because we just know we have tomorrow. Our lives are literally a vapor and we could be gone like that. So do your part.

Speaker 1:

God knows your busy day, miss Busy B. I'm talking about myself. What's time to the person who created time? And God doesn't even exist in time, but time ain't nothing to God. He knows what your day looks like. He knows your schedules, he knows your plans, he knows the kids, he knows the boyfriend. He knows your plans, he knows the kids, he knows the boyfriend, the husband, all of that. He knows. He's seeing if you are going to choose him, if I am going to choose him, and he's like, oh, my daughter is growing. Look at her over there maturing or nope, she didn't pass this test. We're gonna put her back over there and see how she make up next time.

Speaker 1:

It's like, oh, I'm ready to pass my test. I want whole food. I don't want any baby milk and I want to go beyond the surface level and dig deep and, in the event, I have to go back to the basics, because the bible did tell us there will be a time and I will do that. So, yeah, I hope this is truly, truly helpful. I really just want to get this out to as many people as possible, because our world is struggling like we just need more people truly pushing God's kingdom agenda. So, again, take what you need, leave what you don't and, as always, y'all remember to stay and be remarkable, and I will catch you guys in the next one. Oh, I'm going to try to do another one before the end of the year. Y'all pray for me. Okay, bye y'all, till next time.
