EP 11 | The Ripple Effect of Obedience
Ever wondered how a simple gesture can ripple into a wave of kindness? I recount a heartfelt encounter at the grocery store, where a decision to help an elderly woman transformed into an unexpected chain of generosity. It’s a vivid reminder of the power of listening to those quiet nudges from our spiritual guides. A familiar tune in church reminded me of this power, as Pastor Steven Furtick’s song, "Trust in God," moved an entire congregation, illustrating how faith and obedience can unite us all in profound ways.
Join me on this episode of Remarkable Revelations as I share these personal stories that underscore the essence of kindness and faith. We explore how small acts of obedience can spark moments of connection and community, encouraging us to trust that our actions, no matter how minor they seem, can inspire others and possibly bring them closer to their spiritual path. Whether it’s a song that touches hearts or a stranger who pays it forward, these stories invite us to embrace the possibilities of human kindness and divine guidance.

What is up party people, welcome back to another episode of Remarkable Revelations. My name is Alexandria and on this channel I help women tap into their God-given worth by sharing my personal revelations. Today I want to talk about obedience. I don't have very much scripture for you today, but more so just biblical principles that you should apply to your life and I'm praying that you take with you going into this week. So I have to break this down into two stories.
Speaker 1:Today in church we were in worship and there is a song by Pastor Steven Furtick, who pastors Elevation Church, and the song is titled Trust in God. I don't know how to sing, but it's I trust in God, my Savior, the one. He will never. I hope you know that, okay. So anyway, great song. If you don't know it, go look it up, and I'm looking around the room. You could tell that some people had never heard the song before. You can tell some knew the words the song says I sought the Lord and he heard and he answered. That's why I trust him. And it was in that moment where people was just like you know. They were weeping, they were. It's a beautiful song. It was a beautiful thing to see, and I actually have a photo because I wanted to make sure I captured it. But and in the song it says that he will never fail. Um, and I just started thinking about obedience, obedience, obedience. So Pastor Stephen Furtick never made that song like what? What could have happened? It reminded me of what I experienced last night. So my best friend, um, shout out to her. She was in the studio and she wanted some snacks. So I went over to the grocery store to get some snacks. So I got the snacks.
Speaker 1:We're in line checking out and I'm going to give you guys like a descriptive, like visual um, just for context, so you understand, um, you know the depth behind the story. So in front of me is an elderly lady. She's about four and a half feet tall. She actually works at the store. She had on her her work outfit. It was the end of her shift, it was pretty late, it was like almost 11 o'clock and she had her, her groceries and checking out. The guy at the register says okay, your total is is this amount. She pulls out this wad of money and it starts with ones, and so she's peeling back each one, each dollar bill, and then she gets to the five and then she just gives it to the cashier and honestly, I'm not even sure she counted it, but the way she I think she was just doing it to just unfold all the money, but the way she gave it to the cashier, she it was almost like she wasn't sure if she had enough.
Speaker 1:I'm gonna say this and I don't mean it in an arrogant way um, you could tell, like that was that that lady's like last, like she was counting out everything that she had to in her possession. So I'm watching this happen and I just I tell the cashier, put it all together, I'm gonna pay for it, I'm gonna take care of it. I just kind of signal to her like I got it, you know, you know, have a good evening. And she just kind of nods her head and she walks off. I move up getting ready to pay for everything. The guy behind me then says, scratch, that, I'm gonna just pay for everything the elderly lady, me and his stuff. So I'm just like great, you know, thank you.
Speaker 1:Um, when the holy spirit said, cover that, take care of her, my act of obedience poured over into the gentleman behind me. Now what I cannot get on here and say is that the Holy Spirit led. I don't know who led him to do it, but at the end of the day he did something greater than himself. What if I never listen? What if I was disobedient and didn't take care of that? You know that lady's um grocery. It wouldn't have presented an opportunity for the man behind me to do to serve someone else. Who knows if that, you know him paying for everybody's stuff pushed him a little bit closer to God. It did something for him on the inside and maybe showed him that there are still nice people in the world. And who knows what happened after we all left the grocery store.
Speaker 1:I don't know, but it was just truly nice to see just how my act of obedience poured into someone else, just like Pastor Furtick wrote that song. And it's pouring into several different countries, several different religions, touching millions of people just by an act of obedience. So when God calls you to something, when the Holy Spirit says something to you, be obedient, because it is so much bigger than you. So that is truly all that I have. I could go on and on and on about this topic, but thank you all for being here and I hope you have a phenomenal week. And until next time, guys, remember to always stay and be remarkable, and I will catch you in the next one. Bye.
