RMKBL Revelations with Alexzandria
EP 9 | Serving Others When You Don’t Want To
Ever felt the tugging of your heart to help someone but found yourself wrestling with reluctance and self-doubt? Today, I share my raw and personal journey of grappling with God's call to support someone in need, as inspired by Galatians 6:2-3. Through my initial resistance and the powerful spiritual check I received, I learned profound lessons about humility, obedience, and the true meaning of carrying each other's burdens. This episode offers a candid exploration of the internal conflicts we face when our human logic clashes with divine instruction ' and how surrendering to God's will can lead to spiritual growth.
Join me, Alexzandria, on Remarkable Revelations as I uncover how our small acts of service, though seemingly insignificant, mirror the ultimate sacrifice Jesus made for us. You’ll hear about my struggle to align my heart with God's word, the transformation of my mindset, and the importance of supporting others without feeling burdened. This heartfelt discussion is an invitation to check our hearts, embrace God's call, and find fulfillment in helping others. Tune in to be inspired, challenged, and uplifted as we walk this journey of faith together.
What's up y'all? Welcome back to another episode of Remarkable Revelations. My name is Alexandria and on this channel, I share my personal, god-given revelations to help other women tap into their worth. So, with that being said, I hope y'all have been good, been great. Let's jump right into it. We're going to be reading from Galatians, chapter 6, verses 2 and 3. It says Carry one another's burdens. In this way, you will fulfill the law of Christ, for if anyone considers himself to be something when he is nothing, he deceives himself. He deceives himself. So today I want to talk about, if you can't tell, carrying another person's burdens.
Speaker 1:I met an individual and only after a few conversations I knew that God was telling me that I was going to have some part in this person's life. I don't know to what extent. He was telling me like hey, I need you to pour into this person. And I resisted, long story short, for my own personal reasons, which is not a good enough reason. Is there ever a good enough reason to disobey God? But I disobey God? But I disobeyed, I resisted. It's like nope, nope, lord, get somebody else to do it. Don't sign me up. I don't want to. I don't want to text, I don't want to go to extra mile. I don't want. No.
Speaker 1:Through my disobedience I ended up getting some feedback, um, in regards to my posture towards this individual, and it really wasn't towards the individual, but I think indirectly you can kind of feel it. Okay, no, it was towards this individual and it just it wasn't something that I was proud of, because if you know me and I mean if you truly know me you know that I am the nicest person. I will do anything for anybody. I will give their shirt off my back. That is truly who I am, to my core. And I guess I just didn't really realize that. I didn't think it would be a thing, you know, I thought it would just be something that I would ignore and then eventually it would go away. So I'm like, okay, god, I really just don't want to do this like I don't, and instantly. And I do me instantly because when you're connected with God and I mean really connected it does not take long for him to be able to check you and you realize it's coming from him. And he checked me and said, alex, I sent my son to die for you. I don't know what bigger burden that you want to compare, but he's like I win over here. So what I'm asking you to do is the very least that you can do, and I'm like all right, right, lord, checkmate, you win.
Speaker 1:So, to be fair, it wasn't really I don't want to help them. I don't want to do that because I'm not a bully, I don't, that's. That's not who I am. I just couldn't understand the logic of why I had to do it.
Speaker 1:But that's also a problem, because when God speaks and you align it with his word and you, you know, one plus one equals two. There is no rationalizing that. That needs to take place in your mind. That's why we shouldn't say follow your first mind. We shouldn't say that because we're not, we're not smarter than God. So everything flows from the heart and we have to check our hearts.
Speaker 1:And if God would open up my heart, when, which he did he would see like there's some ill intent in there. And it's not to say that I'm talking about this person Like it's just. I just don't want to do it Like I don't. I don't want to do it. And, um, my heart was not in the right place, my posture, um, in reference to this individual was not in the right place. So God exposed that to me. You got my undivided attention. I'm all ears. I need you to help me understand. How does me doing what you're asking me to do help this person?
Speaker 1:In my opinion, I feel like I'm enabling them and not helping them. But then again he says I'm not telling you to fix them, alex. I'm telling you to do one simple thing. I'm telling you to do the very thing that I showed you and brought you through. I need you to go do that. I need you to go spread the gospel. I need you to go take this person to lunch. I need you to go the extra mile. I need you to send that text message. I just need you to do what I'm telling you to do.
Speaker 1:We obviously he knows that we can't fix people, we can't change people. So I feel like we just live in such a selfish culture I'm guilty of it right that if it doesn't serve me, if it doesn't make me happy, if it disturbs my peace, there we back off. But nowhere and I do mean nowhere in this whole book does it say if it disturbs your peace, if it doesn't serve you, if it doesn't make you happy. Nowhere in there says that at all. We disturb God's peace every single day. I know I do, I'm gonna just speak for myself. I disturb this man's peace. Okay, not really because he's God, but you, you understand what I'm saying. Like we sin daily, daily, and he still shows up for us every single day, shows us grace every single day, mercy every day. Still loves us every single day. So we have to just like the word told us if we don't bear another person's burdens especially when you can speak to that burden and give wisdom that God so graciously gave to you, you're nothing, because who do you think you are? It's literally what the Bible says. Literally what the Bible says and I want to share Tony Evans. I love his commentary. Go grab it.
Speaker 1:On that verse specifically, it says that, excuse me, to restore a sinning brother or sister is an example of carrying one another's burdens. But burdens don't necessarily imply sin. The burdens of life can include all sorts of weighty problems Physical, relational, financial and emotional. Believers are to serve one another like spotters serving those who are lifting weights. When the strain of a burden becomes more than an individual can bear, a spotter lifts the weight off of his chest. Carrying the burden of another can take an unlimited number of forms, including prayer, making time for that person, um, providing practical assistance, giving financial assistance, in providing a listening ear. Such burden bearing will fulfill the love of christ, which is the love, the law of love. And I want to continue because he says verse three so well.
Speaker 1:Any Christian who considers himself above the responsibility to serve others in this way and carrying their burden is thinking too highly of himself. He considers himself to be something when he is nothing. Like who do we think we are? Sometimes Like it's just again. God just checks mates. I love it, so we have to stay for me. Anyway.
Speaker 1:It's a reminder. I have to think back when my flesh wants to be louder than his word. I have to remember where he brought me from. I have to remember where he brought me from. I have to remember my surroundings. I have to remember me talking to you like none of this is of my own doing all of it is because of him. So I need to act accordingly and move and do what he has told me to do and go share the gospel, because at the end of the day, all it's going to do is God is going to do something through me and he is going to do something through that person and at the end of the day, he's going to receive the glory. That's all that truly matters. And at first and I'm going to be honest with you I knew I was actually doing the bare minimum, which is yeah, so I wasn't fully resisting, but I wasn't doing things to my fullest capacity.
Speaker 1:And even if you don't have the capacity, right, but you truly feel like God is calling you to bear another person's burden, you still need to obey him, because where you are weak, he is strong. So we just have to trust him and not try to rationalize everything in our minds. Um, again, we have to remember where we come from and we are images of God. Thank you, holy Spirit. We are images of God and with us being images of God. If you saw my last video or listened to the podcast, you have heard me say because we are images of God, we are of God. Our actions are supposed to also imitate his actions. God would not act this way. God would not have this posture, god would not have this type of heart. You know, that's not what he would do and thankfully he is a forgiving God who extends grace time after time. So, with that being said, I haven't seen this whole thing through yet.
Speaker 1:I am taking I've already actually taken the necessary steps to make time for this individual, but what I received today from him was a revelation in itself. Never think that you're too good. Never think that, god, I got too much going on. It's not meant for me to bear. God know what you got going on and, trust me, you don't have more problems than God. So if he's calling you to it, then just trust him. In the commentary, tony Evans said a listening ear. That's how you can show up for somebody. That's how you can bear another person's burden. It'll cost you some time, but what is time when you are obeying the one who created it? So I hope this was helpful. I really really do.
Speaker 1:I have to update you guys on I don't know if the next video I feel like the next video kind of get off topic here, but I got to address the background. I know you guys are used to full production my flamingo chairs, remarkable clothing pieces in the background but what I received on my five-month hiatus is that what you attract people with is what they're going to be attracted to. So when I get on here and I share my revelations and I want to share the gospel. I don't need y'all focused on the, the chair and everything, the lights like. I just need it to be me and God, god flowing through me so you can receive this message in the way that he intended to. So again, another video for another day, but I thank you guys again for being here. I love you so incredibly much. If you found this helpful, please share it with a friend. And until next time, guys, remember to always stay and be remarkable. I'll catch you in the next one.
